Science Show for Kids
Getting kids excited about STEM is best done with a big show. In 2018, children learned exciting content about the ISS mission “Horizon” and experienced a real highlight during the live call to the ISS and the Q&A session with ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst.
Following this successful start, the “DLR_Raumfahrt_Show” team took the children on a journey to the moon in 2019 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
For the Science Show for Children, we developed age-appropriate experiments and hands-on activities and created speeches for the presenters. In addition to the DLR_School_Lab directors, student presenters were specifically cast and trained to work on the show. YAEZ designed a key visual to match the show’s respective theme and developed as well as created materials for the presentation and execution of the experiments.
The “DLR_Raumfahrt_Show” toured throughout Germany: to date, a total of 117 shows have been implemented at 40 different locations. More than 80,000 children gained exciting insights into numerous aerospace topics. The consistently positive feedback reinforces the basic idea behind the Science Show: to give children an understanding of complex scientific issues in an age-appropriate way, thereby increasing their enthusiasm for STEM topics.
