Financial Literacy for Schools

Deutsche Bank AG
So geht Geld
What can I and can’t I afford? How do I learn to handle money appropriately? How do I avoid getting into debt? And what does “inflation” really mean? “So geht Geld” (“This is how money works”) addresses these and more issues bringing financial literacy topics into the classroom.

The “So geht Geld” initiative strengthens young people’s understanding of economics, turns them into critical and self-determined consumers and eliminates their fear of finances, which are often considered a complex subject.

During the “So geht Geld” program, Deutsche Bank employees come into the classroom and impart their knowledge of money, accounts, etc. to students from grade 5 onwards. In all types of schools students learn about finances in a professionally sound, realistic and easy-to-understand way. Therefore “So geht Geld” offers 11 different teaching units about different financial topics, such as saving and investing, loans and financing, the banking and financial system or stock market knowledge.

We offer our digital learning modules, the “eduStories” as a digital addon to all teaching units. The information and interactive questions in the “eduStories” are prepared in a social media format, making them intuitive to handle. Using the digital learning format young people can independently build up and deepen their financial knowledge.
